MIG / TIG Welder Fabricator
Location: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
Salary: upto £17-£21 per hour, depending on experience
Shift: Rotating shifts – 2 weeks mornings / 2 weeks afternoons
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Major Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing fabrication company based in Nottingham, who are looking for an experienced MIG / TIG Welder Fabricator to join their friendly and supportive team.
This is not a trainee position. We are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator who can work confidently and contribute from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- TIG weld thin-gauge mild steel and stainless steel, with stainless steel being the primary material.
- MIG weld where required.
- Produce high-quality cosmetic and structural welds to a consistently high standard.
- Read and accurately interpret engineering and technical drawings.
- Dress and finish your own welds to the required standard.
- Carry out additional fabrication tasks including drilling and tapping.
- Inspect your own work and ensure finished components meet quality requirements.
- Work accurately and efficiently to customer specifications and deadlines.
- Work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
- Be willing to learn additional welding and fabrication techniques, including aluminium welding where required.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a MIG / TIG Welder Fabricator within a manufacturing, fabrication or engineering environment.
- Strong TIG welding experience, particularly with stainless steel and mild steel.
- The ability to produce neat, high-quality welds with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience reading and working from engineering drawings.
- Good general fabrication skills.
- The ability to dress and finish your own welds.
- Experience with drilling, tapping and other associated fabrication tasks.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Aluminium welding experience is highly desirable, although training can be provided if required.
Please Note
This is an experienced Welder Fabricator position and is not suitable for trainee welders. Candidates must have solid TIG welding experience and be confident working independently within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Working Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week – 5 x 8-hour shifts
- 2 weeks on mornings: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2 weeks on afternoons: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- £12.00 – £18.00 per hour, depending on experience
- £1.00 per hour shift allowance for the first 40 hours
- Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate after 40 hours
- Paid 10-minute and 30-minute breaks
